Church "St. Demetrius"

Going north from the Mugliz bus station, on the right side of the road next to the river is the beautiful St. Dimitar Church. The construction of the church was started by the master Kolyo Ficheto, but soon after he fell ill the construction was taken over by one of his best students - Gencho Novakov, who is also the author of the iconostasis. The church is unique for its architecture and is declared a monument of culture. The foundation stone of the church was laid in the 1880s and the consecration took place in 1891 on Dimitrov Day. The building is three-domed with a cupola and bell tower over the west entrance. The belfry was built in 1912 by local craftsmen.
