Monument to Kancho Nenov Tsankov

The patron of the village of Kanchevo, one of the first Social Democrats, Kancho Nenov Tsankov was born on July 24, 1897 in the village of Kanchevo. Gorno Gradishte, now Kanchevo. He came from a poor peasant family with three sisters and two brothers. Kancho finished the fourth grade in his native village, but due to lack of funds he could not continue his education, and went to study a trade with the then famous abbot Ivan Mechev from the village of Enina. Later he did his military service and in the barracks he was caught up in the Soldier's Uprising, at which time he accepted the new ideas.
